Police Blotter 10-12-09 – 10-19-09

MONDAY, OCTOBER 12

9:57 AM: Off. Turner stopped a MV on Summit Ave. and issued a citation to the operator for the CMVI of operating an unregistered MV. The MV was ordered towed.

11:01 AM: Offs. Turner and Acone assisted the parties with the exchange of papers at a minor MVA at Shirley and Underhill streets.

11:39 AM: Off. Turner issued a citation to the owner of a MV on River rd. for the CMVI of an expired registration. The owner pulled his MV into his driveway and the officer took the expired plates.

5:59 PM: Officers S. and M. Delehanty dispersed a group of youths from the area of Revere and Harvard streets.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13

12:20 AM: Off. Carter stopped a MV at Pleasant and Main streets and issued a citation to the operator for a CMVI.

12:45 AM: Off. Carter stopped a MV at Pleasant and Main streets and issued a citation to the operator for a CMVI.

9:18 AM: A caller reported that she was in a Viking Taxi with another person and was smacked in the head by the other person. The cab drove the parties to the police station where officers interviewed the subjects.

12:27 PM: Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance and arrested Ronald Russo, 46, of 200 Somerset Ave., on a charge of A&B.

2:01 PM: A Shirley St. resident reported that his ex-wife was at his premises in violation of a 209A order. Officer Donellan responded and arrested Katherine Trainor, 42, of 78 Cottage Ave., on a charge of violating a 209A order.

3:22 PM: A 209A order was received from the Lowell District Court to be served upon a local resident named as the defendant.

4:02 PM: Off. Hickey stopped a MV at Veterans rd. and Washington Terrace and issued a citation to the operator for the CMVI of speeding.

4:22 PM: Off. Hickey stopped a MV on Tafts Ave. and issued a citation to the operator for the CMVI of speeding.

4:29 PM: Off. Donellan stopped a MV on Veterans rd. and issued a citation to the operator for the CMVI of speeding.

5:15 PM: A 209A order was received from the Chelsea District Court to be served upon a local resident named as the defendant.

11:40 PM: Off. Zichella ordered loud music at a Chester Ave. residence to be turned down.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14

7:02 AM: A resident reported finding a hypodermic syringe on Somerset Ave. An officer retrieved the needle and disposed of it at the station.

8:17 PM: Off. Donellan assisted the parties with the exchange of papers at a minor MVA at the Ft. Banks School.

11:11 AM: Off. Donellan stopped a MV at Sturgis St. and Shore Drive and issued a citation to the operator for the CMVI of failing to stop for a stop sign.

11:50 AM: Off. Donellan stopped a MV on Veterans rd. and issued a citation to the operator for the CMVI of failing to stop for a stop sign. The officer also determined through the RMV computer that the registration of the MV was revoked for insurance cancellation. A criminal citation for that offense was given to the operator.

12:04 PM: A resident reported the fraudulent use of a bank debit card.

2:01 PM: A report from a Tileston Road. resident of a sick raccoon was referred to the ACO.

2:26 PM: Officers stopped a MV on Veterans rd. and issued a citation to the operator for the CMVI of failing to stop for a stop sign. When the officers learned from the RMV computer that the operator’s license was suspended, a citation was written for that criminal offense. A passenger with a valid license was allowed to operate the MV.

2:35 PM: Off. Donellan stopped a MV on Veterans rd. and issued a citation to the operator for the CMVI of failing to stop for a stop sign.

3:01 PM: Off. Donellan stopped a MV on Tafts Ave. and issued a citation to the operator for the CMVI of speeding.

3:16 PM: Off. Crisafi stopped a MV on Shore Drive and issued a citation to the operator for the CMVI of failing to stop for a stop sign.

3:36 PM: Off. Donellan stopped a MV on Tafts Ave. and issued a citation to the operator for the CMVI of speeding.

3:43 PM: Off. Donellan stopped a MV on Tafts Ave. and issued a citation to the operator for the CMVI of speeding.

8:00 PM: Off. Bonavita stopped a MV on Shirley St. and issued a citation to the operator for a CMVI.

9:40 PM: Officers Grimes and Bonavita responded to a report of the same group of noisy and unruly youths at the tennis courts on Cross St. The officers dispersed the youth and will seek applications for criminal complaints in the district court.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15

1:38 AM: A Beach red. Resident reported a B&E into her MV and that prescription drugs were taken.

8:30 AM: Off. Crisafi stopped a MV on Putnam St. and issued a citation to the operator for the CMVI of failing to stop for a stop sign.

8:47 AM: An officer working a detail at the Dunkin’ Donuts on Main St. observed a town MV back into another MV. The officer assisted with the exchange of papers.

9:25 AM: A 209A order was received from the Lynn District Court to be served on a local resident named as the defendant.

10:15 AM: A Faun Bar Ave. resident reported a B&E into his MV that had been parked in his driveway.

10:25 AM: A Triton Ave. resident reported that his MV had been struck by a hit & run operator.

10:50 AM: Off. Donellan stopped a MV on Neptune Ave. and issued a citation to the operator for the CMVI of failing to stop for a stop sign. When the RMV computer revealed that the registration plate on the MV was revoked for insurance cancellation and belonged to another MV, the officer issued a criminal citation for those offenses.

1:05 PM: Officers arrested Laura M. Aliberti, 23, of 58 Douglas St., on a charge of illegal possession of a Class B controlled narcotic substance.

1:28 PM: Off. Nestor dispersed a group of youths from the area of Gov. Park at Revere St.

2:42 PM: Off. Nestor stopped a MV on Cross St. and issued a citation to the operator for the CMVI of speeding in a school zone.

3:03 PM: Off. Nestor stopped a MV on Cross St. and issued a citation to the operator for the CMVI of failing to stop for a stop sign.

3:55 PM: Off. Donellan stopped a MV on Shirley St. and issued a citation to the operator for the CMVI of failing to stop for a stop sign.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16

10:21 AM: Off. Donellan stopped a truck on Pleasant St. and issued a citation to the operator for a violation of the town by law of not following the truck route.

10:54 AM: Off. Donellan stopped a truck at Beacon and Shirley streets and issued a citation to the operator for a violation of the town by law of not following the truck route. The officer also cited the operator for failing to stay within marked lanes because the truck took out two fire hydrants while attempting to turn onto Shirley St.

12:55 PM: Off. Donellan stopped a MV on Cross St. and issued a citation to the operator for the CMVIs of failing to stop for a stop sign and not wearing a seat belt.

2:02 PM: Off. Donellan stopped a MV on Harvard St. and issued a citation to the operator for the CMVIs of failing to stop for a stop sign and not wearing a seat belt.

5:18 PM: Off. Crisafi reported that she observed a MV strike a parked MV on Winthrop St. and then flee the scene. The officer wrote down the plate numbers of the MVs and will file a report.

9:16 PM: Off. Ferullo brought a teen who was under the influence home to his parents.

9:54 PM: Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance between a boyfriend and girlfriend. The officers arrested Robert B Ivanoff, 24, of 110 Buchanan St., on a charge of assault & battery.

10:12 PM: Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. They arrested Robert H. Zullo, 26, of 41 Buckthorn Terrace, on charges of two counts of assault & battery.

11:14 PM: Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. They determined that the matter was a verbal one only and advised the parties of their rights.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17

5:10 AM: A B&E was reported into a business at Shirley and Revere streets. A window had been smashed and items were taken.

10:35 AM: A Shirley St. resident reported that a window on her home and the glass in a front door had been shattered overnight.

11:52 AM: A report of an injured seagull in the sand at Yirrell Beach was referred to the ACO.

1:59 PM: A Pauline St. resident reported that two tires on his son’s MV had been slashed overnight.

7:50 PM: A dog was reported struck and killed by a hit and run operator in the vicinity of 81 Main St.

8:31 PM: Officers dispersed a large group of youths from the area of the Massa Playground.

9:02 PM: Officers dispersed a large group of youths from the area of the White Hen.

9:42 PM: Officers responded to a report of a loud birthday party on Moore St. The officers stood by as the youths were picked up by their parents.

10:37 PM: Officers returned to Moore St. upon a report that youths had reappeared. More of the youths were leaving the party and being picked up by their parents.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18

12:22 PM: Officers responded to a report of a windsurfer in distress at the Point. The windsurfer was back on shore when the officers arrived.

7:55 PM: Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance between a father and son. The son, who is an adult, agreed to leave for the evening.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 19

3:30 AM: Off. MacFarland ordered a tow for a MV at Kennedy rd. and Overlook Drive that was parked so as to be obstructing emergency MVs.
