Let the publication of Winthrop resident Norman Hubley’s book serve as an inspiration to anyone who has pursued one dream or another for a long time, and then finally got to see his goal realized.

Mr. Hubley, an accomplished attorney, wrote a book 30 years ago. But after several publishing companies said no, Mr. Hubley finally received the letter he had been hoping for and next week his book, “Beyond Vengeance: A Tale of Obsession and Deception,” will hit bookstores.

Norm will have a book signing on June 19 at the Winthrop Book Depot in Winthrop Center. We congratulate Mr. Hubley on having his book published and thank him for reminding all of us that one can reach one’s goals if he or she is persistent and believes in the quality of his or her work.

Mr. Hubley is a member of the Winthrop High Hall of Fame, helped raise a great family (his daughter, Pam, gave Winthrop High sports fans a lot to cheer about as a defensive standout on one of Winthrop’s greatest girls basketball teams), and had a distinguished career as an attorney.

Being a published author is something Mr. Hubley aspired to be. We trust many of his fellow residents will be on hand at the Book Depot next Saturday to share Norm’s joy and pick up what promises to be a good book for your summer reading list.
