Ann Nucci

East Boston resident

Ann M. Nucci of East Boston died on Oct 19.

The beloved wife of the late John D. Nucci, she was the devoted mother of John A. Nucci and his wife, Peggy, of East Boston; dear sister of Angela Caruso of Wilmington and the late Anthony Damplo and Mary Puleo; cherished grandmother of John, Michael and Daniel and is also survived by her many cherished nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral will be held from the Ruggiero Mazzarella Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St (Orient Heights), East Boston on Friday, October 22 at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in Celebration of her life in St Joseph St Lazarus Church, Ashley Street, East Boston at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Graduate of ICHS, Class of 1952

Catherine J. "Jane" (Sheehan) Floyd of Shrewsbury and Winnisquam, NH, formerly of Revere, died on October 16.

A graduate of the Immaculate Conception High School, Class of 1952, Windham Secretarial School and the Chelsea Soldiers Home School of Nursing, she was the beloved wife of Leo A. Floyd with whom she shared 51 years of marriage; loving mother of James Floyd and his wife, Donna Marie Floyd, of Upton, Revere Firefighter Lawrence Floyd and his wife, Doreen, of Winthrop, Robert Floyd and his wife, Cari, of New Jersey, Richard Floyd and his wife, Denise, of New Hampshire and Daniel Floyd and his wife, Deborah, of Holden; dear sister of the late Teresa "Codge" Irving and John R. Sheehan Jr.; cherished grandmother of Eddie, Teddy, Andrew, Max, Lucy, Harry, Lily, Abby, Asa, Kiely and Ben Floyd.

Edwin Ruskin

Of Florida, formerly of Winthrop

Edwin F. Ruskin of Boynton Beach, FL, formerly of Winthrop, died on October 15. He was 82 years old.

He was the beloved husband of Ruth Sherman Ruskin; devoted father of Marc Ruskin, the late Robin Brown McNary, Glenn Brown, Keith Brown and his wife, Karen, Wendy Welch and her husband, Cory, and loving grandfather of Justin McNary, Ashley and Derek Brown, Brittany and Brandon Welch, and Austin and Alexa Brown.

Marion Deroo

Winthrop Historical Society and former Winthrop Hospital League member

Marion I. (Daly) Deroo of Winthrop died suddenly at home on October 16. She was 94 years old.

A member of the Winthrop Historical Society and the former Winthrop Hospital League, she was the beloved wife of the late Abbott L. Deroo. She was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Robert C. and Elizabeth (Nagel) Daly and was the devoted mother of Elizabeth Swenson and her husband, Ken, of Hopkington, Frederick Deroo and his companion, Jan McLaughlin, of Marblehead, Suzanne Dalton and her late husband, Ed, Linda Costantino and her husband, Frank, and Janis Connor and her husband, Kirby, all of Winthrop; dear sister of Franklin Daly of Rhode Island and the late Dorothy Reed, Eleanor Reed, Elizabeth Lohnes, Earl Daly, Richard Daly and Robert "Buddy" Daly. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and the late Richard Deroo, 36 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Albert Canacari

Watertown resident

Albert H. Canacari of Watertown died on October 15.

He was the husband of the late Josephine B. (Insalaco) Canacari; father of Elena G. Canacari and her husband, Donald Bartlett, of Winthrop, Joyce L. O’Connell and her husband, Vincent, of Watertown, Lisa C. Terry and her husband, John, of Belmont, Alberta R. Canacari of Watertown and Michael V. Canacari and his wife, Maureen, of Florida; brother of Marie Sostarich of Denver, Colorado and is also survived by 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

John Neil Swenson Sr.

Lynnfield resident, formerly of East Boston

John Neil Swenson, Sr. of Lynnfield, formerly of Saugus and East Boston, died on October 15.

A US Navy veteran of the Korean War, he was the beloved husband of more than 53 years to Edith Anne (Landry) Swenson; devoted father of Elyce Marie Swenson of Amesbury and John Neil Swenson, Jr. of New Hampshire; dear brother of Peter J. Swenson and his wife, Dorothy, and Janet D’Amico and her husband, Charles "Max" D’Amico, all of Winthrop, and the late Gloria J. Perry and is also survived by his many cherished nieces and nephews.

Carolyne Perry Evers

Of Connecticut, formerly of Winthrop

Carolyne (Cally) Perry Evers of 82 Irving Street, Mystic, CT, died suddenly on October 9. She was 69 years old.

Born on February 9, 1941, she grew up in Winthrop, the daughter of the late Robert and Edythe Perry. She was a graduate of Smith College and earned her M.A. in Teaching at Wesleyan University and her M.B.A. at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. After teaching in Kenya for two years, in 1969 she moved to Mystic, CT where she enjoyed teaching students as a lab instructor in chemistry at University of Connecticut at Avery Point for more than 20 years.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Evers is survived by her husband, Tim, her son, Tod, her daughter Katy Chiapperini and her husband, Rob, and their son Milo. She was the sister of the late Robert Perry and mother of the late T.E. Evers and Robin Sawyer Evers.

Gertrude Eisenberg

Gertrude (Ginsberg) Eisenberg of Delray Beach, FL, formerly of Winthrop, died on October 14. She was 76 years old.

A retired Executive Assistant with the MA. Dept. of Corrections, she was the devoted wife of Albert Eisenberg, beloved mother of Ilene and Jonathan Cutler and Dianne and Burton Gesserman; cherished grandmother of Alyssa and Hayley Cutler, Lauren Gesserman-Smith and her husband, Adam Smith, and Rachel Gesserman.

Of Quincy, formerly of Everett

Josephine B. "Babe" (Caracciolo) Mack of Quincy, formerly of Everett, died suddenly October 14 at the Quincy Medical Center. She was 94 years old.

She was the beloved wife for 66 years of Edward A. Mack; devoted mother of Elaine V. Weed of Marshfield, Edward A. Mack, Jr. and his wife, Carol, of Hanover and Dennis J. Mack of Winthrop; loving grandmother of Jason Kane, Jessica Keefe, Justin Weed, Tyler Mack, Katelyn Mack and Amanda Mack; great grandmother of Jaycee and Brayden; sister of Anthony Caracciolo of Everett and sister-in-law of Rose Carr of Nahant.

Alan Cohen

Former member of Winthrop Golf Club

Alan L. Cohen of Boynton Beach, Florida died on October 11 after a long battle with cancer. He was 78 years old

He will be forever remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends. As a former member of the Winthrop Golf Club, he was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing poker.
