Townspeople have likely seen on the town’s web site the job description/scope of responsibilities for the public facilities director position that is part of the consolidation plan from Town Manager James McKenna.
This is a position that is important to the management of the town and its facilities and one that could potentially save hundreds of thousands of dollars in maintenance costs by preventing our buildings and their machinery from being neglected.
There are many responsibilities for the position, including overseeing a staff of 14 employees.
We support the town manager’s decision to create such a position and look forward to an individual taking over the new post and helping our citizens be assured that our town and school buildings are the safest they can be for our residents and our students.
