William ‘Billy’ Law

Of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston

William T “Billy” Law of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston, died suddenly on April 22.

He was the beloved husband of more than 55 years to Palma M (Iantosca) Law; loving brother of Ruth Carras and her husband, John of South Boston and the late Harold, David, John and Robert Law; dear brother in law of Angelo Iantosca and Christine of Danvers and is also survived by many cherished nieces nephews and friends.

His Funeral will be held from the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga St. (Orient Heights) East Boston today, Thursday, April 26, at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of his life in St. John the Evangelist Church, Winthrop at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Lorraine Strekofsky

Beautician and School Volunteer

Lorraine (DiNapoli) Strekofsky died peacefully in the arms of her loving family on April 18. She was 83 years old.

She spent many years as a beautician and was a dedicated volunteer at the Veteran’s Memorial and Felton Schools. She enjoyed spending time and took great pride in her sunlit garden.

The beloved wife of the late Edwin Strekofsky with whom she shared 57 years of marriage, she was the devoted mother of Janice Rubino and her husband, Joseph of Boxford, Joanne Strekofsky Hillman and her husband, Guy of Winthrop and Cheryl Pagliarulo and her husband, Jay of Bradford; proud and adoring Nana of Anna Hillman and Nicholas and Thomas Pagliarulo; daughter of Michael and Elvira DiNapoli; dear sister of the late Ralph DiNapoli and the late Joseph DeNapoli, both of Revere.

Elizabeth Doyle

US Post Office Clerk

Elizabeth L. Doyle of Endfield Road, Winthrop died on April 21 after a brief illness. She was 69 years old.

Born in Winthrop, she was the beloved daughter of Edith (Vass) and Stanley Armitstead. A long time Winthrop resident, she worked as a clerk for the United Stated Post Office for over 32 years.

She was the devoted wife of Mary Anne Thibodeau of Lynn and the loving mother of Marc Doyle of Winthrop, Paula Angelli and her husband, Matthew of Hudson, NH, Lisa Doyle of Bedford, NH and Aimee Cohen and her husband, Douglas of Winthrop; dear sister of Bruce Armitstead of Lowell, Barbara Sharib and her husband, Daniel of Lynn and the late George Armitstead; cherished grandmother of Robert, Allison, Shawn and Sara; former wife of Paul Doyle; stepdaughter of Fran Armistead of New Hampshire. She was loved by all of her wife’s family, especially the little ones.

Robert Kirby

Past Commodore of Winthrop Yacht Club

Robert J. Kirby of Everett died unexpectedly on April 18 while in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida.

Mr. Kirby retired after 38 years at New England Telephone and was a lifetime member and Past Commodore of the Winthrop Yacht Club.

He was the beloved husband of 52 years to Barbara F. (Seward) Kirby; devoted father of Margaret Garcia and her husband, Benjamin of Arizona, Richard Kirby and his wife, Erin of Melrose, Robert Kirby, Jr. and his wife, Shanna of Texas, Leslee Crevoiserat and her husband, Paul of Middleton, and David Kirby and his wife, Maura of New York; brother of the late Nathalie Murphy, Richard Kirby and Helen Taylor; proud “Papa” to Christopher and his wife, Louise, James, Elizabeth, Jacqueline, Richard, Rory, Morgan, Max, Dash, Meghan and Harry. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Robert Floyd III

Longtime Chef

Robert S. Floyd III of Winthrop Street, Winthrop died at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home on April 18 after a short illness. He was 58 years old.

A life long resident of Winthrop, he was employed as a chef for many years.
He was the dear brother of Kathy Camacho and her husband, Paul of Sewickley, PA, Thomas Floyd of Winthrop, John Floyd and his wife, Roberta of Winthrop, Daniel Floyd of Winthrop, Patricia Floyd of Barcelona, Spain, Mary LaMarra of Winthrop, Eileen Floyd of Winthrop, Elizabeth Casey and her husband, John of Winthrop and the late Michael Floyd. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Of Florida, formerly of Winthrop

Rita (Diamond) Broomfield of West Palm Beach, Florida, formerly of Winthrop, died on April 18. She was 92 years old.

She was the devoted wife of Hyman Broomfield; beloved mother of Michael his wife, Andrea Broomfield and Marla and her husband, William Dahlenburg; cherished grandmother of Erica, Zachary, Joel and Tyler and dear sister of the late Benny, Ralph, Reuben Gordon Diamond, Shirley Sagan and Mary Block.
