Congratulations, Norman Gill: Well Deserved Tribute from the Elks

We join the Winthrop Lodge of Elks in congratulating Norman Gill on the major award he received at the Elks’ Flag Day ceremony last month. Mr. Gill, who is 80 years old and retired, served as a radio operator in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the Winthrop Board of Fire Engineers for 15 years and was the Town of Winthrop veterans agent. Afterwards, he moved to the South Shore and became the director of veterans services for 15 Cape Cod communities while being based in Harwich.

He and his wife, Marion, are now back living in Winthrop and Mr. Gill is very happy to be part of the town he loves. He is a beloved father of five daughters and grandfather of 11, all of whom hold Winthrop dear to their heart.

Mr. Gill is one of the people who make Winthrop the great town it is. We know we join with all Winthrop residents in congratulating Norman on his award and hoping he enjoys his retirement years among his family and friends in Winthrop.
