Striking Courage Bowlathon Runs April 6 and 7

Richard Currier invites Winthrop residents to participate in the fourth annual Striking Courage Bowlathon that will be held on April 6 at 7 p.m. at the Candlewood Lanes in North Reading.

Currier, 34, is afflicted with Freidreich’s Alaxia, a debilitating, degenerative neuro-muscular disorder. The proceeds from the fundraiser will go to The FA Project which is committed to creating awareness of the disease.

“I hope people will come out and support the cause,” said Currier, a Winthrop High School Class of 1996 graduate.

Tickets are $25 and include a fun-filled evening of unlimited bowling, delicious food catered by the famous Kelly’s Roas Bee, great raffles, T-shirts, and a DJ. Also included are a cash bar, soft drinks, water, win and a special seasonal offering by Wormtown Brewery.

Currier’s wife, Maria (Gambale) is also a Winthrop High graduate. They have three daughters, Gabriella, Mia, and Audra.
