Charles Ingersoll

Of Winthrop

Charles G. Ingersoll of Winthrop died on August 7.

He was the beloved husband of Sandra (Sarno), devoted father of Charles Ingersoll of Melrose, David Ingersoll and Mark Ingersoll, both of Saugus and step father of Kim Elaine Zirpolo of California; dear brother of  William Ingersoll of Randolph, Richard Ingersoll of Winthrop and Lynn Grasso of Revere and is also survived by three grandchildren.

Robert Magrath

Of Florida, formerly of Winthrop

Robert J. Magrath of The Villages, Florida passed away at the The Villages For Hospice on August 4 after a prolonged illness. He was 78 years old.

Born in Boston, he was the beloved son of the late Marguerite (McFarland) and John F. Magrath. A resident of Winthrop for many years, he retired to Florida over 26 years ago. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a yardmaster for the MBTA. He was also a member of the Revere Lodge of Elks and the Revere Moose.

He was the loving husband of Judith C. (Scott) and the loving father of Karen Colangelo of Burlington, Judy Nugent of Salem, NH, Robert Magrath of Manderville, LA and Michael Magrath of Winthrop; the dear brother of Rita Sorgi of California and the late George Magrath, Carol Buonopane, Mickey Magrath and John Magrath. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation at the Ernest P. Caggiano & Son -O’Maley Funeral Home, 147 Winthrop St., Winthrop on Sunday, August 18 from 4 to 7:30 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. that evening. Committal will be private. Memorial donations may be made to The Villages for Hospice, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages FL 32162-9985.

Cynthia DiFronzo

Longtime Office Manager

Cynthia A. DiFronzo of Pleasant Street, Winthrop passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on August 11 after a brief illness. She was 50 years old.

Born in Winthrop, she was the beloved daughter of Gloria (Beraudo) and the late Nicholas DiFronzo. A lifelong resident of Winthrop, she was employed as an office manager for many years.

She was the dear sister of Deborah Bighinatti of Tewksbury, Richard DiFronzo of Lexington, Alfred “Skip” DiFronzo of Lynnfield and the late Peter DiFronzo.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation at the Ernest P. Caggiano & Son -O’Maley Funeral Home, 147 Winthrop St., Winthrop on Friday, August 16 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph-St. Lazarus Church, 59 Ashley St., East Boston at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow the Mass in the Cross St. section of Winthrop Cemetery.
