Marie C. Petrilli Foundation Raises Funds for a Great Cause

There are certainly some eye-opening fundraising tallies in the front page story about the Marie C. Petrilli Cancer Research and Treatment Memorial Fund.

Led by Mrs. Petrilli’s widower Al Petrilli and his brother, David Petrilli, the foundation raised $220,000 through two golf tournaments in 2013 and 2014. That’s a tremendous total for single-day events and we’re sure Al was quite pleased with the support and generosity of the contributors to the foundation.

Al Petrilli is an instrumental figure in this town as the former chairman of the Viking Pride Foundation that pretty much restored pride and excellence to our athletic program and provided such vital funding for our student athletes. The VPF continues to do great things for our town under the leadership of chairman Vin Crossman.

Al is now planning ‘A Walk to Remember Marie’ for Saturday, Sept. 13. He has been focusing a lot of time and energy on the Marie C. Petrilli Foundation and we hope residents will support the walk and donate to this worthy cause that has already done so much for cancer patients, their families, nurses, and caretakers.
