Council’s Fall Forum Set for Tuesday Night

The Town Council will host its annual Fall Forum on the topic of “delivery of town services” Tuesday (Oct. 7) at 8 p.m. at the Robert A. DeLeo Senior Center.

The forum will follow the regularly scheduled Council meeting that will begin at 7 p.m.

“The forum will provide a summary of what our various town departments do,” said Council President Peter Gill. “All of the department heads will be present at the forum.”

Town Manager James McKenna will also be present to coordinate the presentations.

Gill said one of the Council meeting agenda items will be the appropriation of $2.8 million for infrastructure replacements/improvements for Sunnyside, Pico, Plummer, and Woodside Avenues and Cottage Hill.

Gill also indicated that he expects the construction projects at the former Winthrop Hospital and Dalrymple School sites, and the current Temple Tifereth Israel site to all be completed by December.

“That’s a really good accomplishment,” he said.

The Fall Forum will begin promptly at 8 p.m. “If we have to break from the regular meeting, we’ll do that and then resume the Council meeting after the forum.”
