Winthrop Seeks North Title on Friday Night

The undefeated Winthrop Vikings (9-0) and the undefeated Lynnfield Pioneers (9-0) will battle Friday night 7 pm at Miller Field for theDivision 4 North Title.  The Vikings defeated Triton 14-0 and Lynnfield overwhelmedSwampscott 35-7 to reach the final in Division 4 North.

“We played a very strong defensive game. We get better every week on defense. We must improve on offense, especially in the third quarter.We got stopped twice inside the 20-yard line” said Coach Sean Driscoll. We are playing a team averaging 37 points per game”.

“We have worked very hard to reach the championship game. We must put pressure on Dan Sullivan (16 touchdown passes). He has two excellent receivers. The defensive backs, Jake Chiudina, Reise Turransky, Zach Deeb,Jordan Atkins and Dan Dellano, have to play their best game of the year. We are playing at home and we expect a large crowd to cheer us on to victory” saidCoach Driscoll.
