It takes an incredible amount of time and planning to develop something new in town and Winthrop public health nurse Meredith Hurley knows that all too well.
For the past few months, Meredith has worked to put together the first-ever Wellness Week in Winthrop. The turnout for several events was excellent and it was a fine start to something that should become a yearly event. There truly was something for everyone of every age — from a fun run, to a health expo, to a national speaker, and more — all to raise the awareness on several aspects of public health, from addiction to the overall physical well-being of our community.
Hurley’s efforts in making Wellness Week an important and informative event are to be commended and we wish her well as she seeks to make this an annual happening on the town calendar.
