Ryan Turner

Veterinary Technician

Ryan M. Turner of Manchester, NH, formerly of Winthrop, passed away suddenly at the age of 34 on February 4.

Ryan was a graduate of Winthrop High School, Class of 1999. He was active in football and hockey. He was currently employed at Lockbridge Animal Hospital in Manchester, NH as a veterinary technician.

Born in Malden, he was the cherished son of Gail M. (Sbrizza) Turner and the late Gerald L. Turner of Manchester, NH; dear brother of Kerri Owen and her husband, John and Jeremy Turner, all of Lakeville, MA and Gerald Turner of Dover, NH; adored grandson of Louis J. Sbrizza Sr. and his wife, Paulette of Rochester, NH and the late Janice M. (McCormick) Sbrizza. He is also survived by his loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held in the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. Winthrop today, Thursday, February 11 from 9 to 11a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow in St. John the Evangelist Church, Winthrop at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Arthur Alexander

Long time owner and operator of Revere Bus Co.

Arthur T. Alexander of Revere died on January 27 at Chestnut Woods Nursing Center of Saugus following a long illness. He was 96 years old.

Born in Boston’s South End, the family moved to Revere in 1919 settling on Carleton Street – in the same home where Mr. Alexander would live his entire life. Most of his working career was as a bus driver and. for over 40 years, he and his late wife, Ruth F. (Barber) owned and operated their own school bus company, Revere Bus Company. (Ruth passed away on July 23, 2015 after 72 years of marriage.)

Arthur served for four years with the US Air Force as a Private 1st Class during World War II entering in January of 1942 and serving until March of 1946with the 137 7th AAF in India-Burma.

The couple was an inspiration to many and especially within the neighborhood with their extraordinary devotion to each other and their strong work ethic. It is a comfort to the family that on this Valentines Day, Sunday, February 14, Arthur and Ruth will be “TOGETHER FOREVER.”

He was the devoted father of Arthur T. Alexander, Jr. and his wife, Cynthia Ruffin of Hampton Falls, NH, Tracey B. Keefe and her husband, Edmund M. Keefe, III of Tehachapi, California and the late Susan L. Ricciardi; the cherished grandfather of: Heather Widfeldt and her husband, Randy of Gloucester, Matthew Alexander and his wife, Koryn of Middleton, Ashley Parks and her husband, Daniel of Lynnfield, Thomas A. Keefe and Daniel M. Keefe, both of Tehachapi, California. He is also lovingly survived by five great grandchildren. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a period of visitation on Friday, February 12 from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere. The Funeral Service will follow the visitation in the Funeral Home at 10:15 a.m. Interment will be in the Mass. National Cemetery of Bourne. Josephine Costanzo

Of Winthrop

Josephine Costanzo of Winthrop Street, Winthrop passed away at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, New Hampshire after a brief illness on February 2.

Born in Medford, she was the beloved daughter of the late Mary (Limoli) and John Olivieri. A former resident of East Boston and Dorchester, she has resided in Winthrop for over 42 years.

She was the devoted wife of Joseph Costanzo and the loving mother of Francine Mariano and her husband, Rich and Maria DelPapa and her husband, Joe, all of New Hampshire, John Costanzo of Winthrop, Debra Crescente and her husband, Anthony of Medford and Joseph Costanzo, Jr. and his wife, Lisa of Revere. She was the cherished grandmother of Sean Pappas, Alaina Pappas, Joseph DiRocco, Anthony Crescente, Christopher Costanzo and Darren Costanzo and loving aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was also the dear sister of the late Mario Olivieri.

Her funeral was conducted from the Ernest P. Caggiano and Son-O’Maley Funeral Home, Winthrop on February 6 followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church. Donald Manfra

Member of Winthrop Elks and former Scoutmaster of Cub Scout Troop 78

Donald G. Manfra of Russell Street, Winthrop passed away at the Melrose/Wakefield Hospital on February 6. He was 71 years old.

Born in and a lifelong resident of Winthrop, he was the beloved son of George Manfra and the late Margaret (Albee). Mr. Manfra was the proprietor, along with his son, Donald, Jr., of Expert Collision in Salem. He also was the former owner of D and L Auto Body in Winthrop. He was a member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks and a former scoutmaster of Cub Scout Troop #78.

He was the devoted husband of Lois (Sammaria) and the loving father of Donald Manfra, Jr., Kevin Manfra and Kelly Tobin, all of Winthrop; the dear brother of Sandy DiCato of Peabody and George Manfra of Malden; the cherished grandfather of Maria, Brett, Kevin, Jr., Nicholas, Julia and Trista.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the Ernest P. Sharon DiGregorio

Registered Nurse

Sharon D. (DiMartino) DiGregorio of North Reading, formerly of Burlington and Revere, died at home on February 8 surrounded by her family after a long illness. She was 55 years old.

Sharon was a graduate of North East Vocational High School and Boston College School of Nursing. She worked for many years as a Cancer Research Nurse at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington.

The beloved wife of Dan DiGregorio, she was the devoted mother of Marissa of Chicago and Bianca and Cassaundra of North Reading; loving daughter of Joseph and Gloria (Gassiraro) DiMartino of Revere; dear sister of Karen D. Bertolino and her husband, Richard of Lynnfield and is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere today, Thursday, February 11 at 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St Anthony’s Church at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
