All that remains is for Winthrop’s favorite son Joseph Boncore to take the oath of office as the new State Senator for the First Suffolk and Middlesex District. Boncore is the first Winthrop resident to serve in this esteemed position.
Family, friends, and supporters joined Joseph at a reception Tuesday night at JW’s after the polls had closed and Boncore’s election became official.
Joe had for all intents and purposes won the seat in the Democratic primary held April 12. He was unopposed in Tuesday’s election, as there were no Republican candidates for the seat.
We look forward to being at the State House to cover the inauguration ceremony and Senator Boncore’s first day on the job as State Senator.
