A Taste of Winthrop Sept. 13

Please join the Biggio family  and the Town of Winthrop in the re-dedication of Biggio Square on Sat., Sept 16, at 10 a.m. at the corner of Hermon and Main streets, Winthrop.  PVT Biggio, a Winthrop native, was Killed in Action in WWII.”

 

Downtown Parking Strategies: Getting It Right in Winthrop

Please join the Winthrop Transportation Advisory Committee and Town Manager’s office for a free public workshop on parking policy and management best practices that will support a vibrant, accessible Winthrop and a strong local economy.

The workshop will take place on Thursday, Sept. 14, at 5:30 p.m. at the Lyceum Room in the EB Newton School on Pauline Street.

Winthrop is preparing for significant growth in the Center and in other key areas of town. How can we make sure that parking is sufficient while also facilitating economic development and maintaining our small town character?

 

Local student makes deans list

Endicott College is pleased to announce the Dean’s List students for spring 2017. In order to qualify for the Dean’s List, a student must obtain a minimum grade point average of 3.5, receive no grade below a “C”, have no withdrawal grades, and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits for the semester.

The following students have met those requirements:

Christine Haskell is the granddaughter of Alice Haskell of Winthrop, MA. She is a Junior and is majoring in Liberal Studies/Education with a concentration in Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis.

 

I Love Winthrop Festival Sept. 23

Get ready for the first “I Love Winthrop” festival on Sept. 23. The event,, created to promote local commerce and connection will be held from 1-6 p.m. in Winthrop Center. The festival will include food, entertainment, artisans, outside vendors and activities focused on Hagman Road and the E.B. Newton.
