The Winthrop Improvement and Historical Association once is again is offering for sale a commemorative holiday ornament. This year’s glass ornament features Graves Light, the black lighthouse on a rocky ledge a few miles off our coastline that was named for Thomas Graves, who was a vice-admiral in the fleet of Gov. John Winthrop.
The annual holiday ornament sale benefits the WIHA, which is in charge of the 350 year-old Deane Winthrop House — named after one of John Winthrop’s sons who settled there — which is the oldest home in Suffolk County.
The ornament is for sale for $8 at various locations around town, and at that bargain price, it is sure to be a sellout — so get yours before they’re gone!
