Monday, Feb. 26

Report of loose Yorkie with no clear on Woodside Avenue. 93 reports the owner of the dog retrieved the dog.

Owner of store on Revere Street stated a male party stole some beverages. Party would like an officer to come down to review the videotape. 93 reports he viewed the videotape and clearly saw the accused stealing the beverages and getting into his vehicle. 93 informed the owner that when the alleged comes back into the store (as he is a regular and comes in at least twice a day) to call the WPD, and we will respond.

Party reports finding a tax-refund check on the street and made payable to an individual in town. W92 reports making contact and delivering the check to the rightful owner.

Employee on Shirley Street called and stated a dark-colored Jeep has been parked in front of the store for about three days. 92 states the individual lives nearby and is known. He will speak to the subject. 92 reports the owner is on vacation, and the roommate will move the vehicle today.

Report of a disagreement with workers on Shore Drive. 92 reports the disagreement was verbal only between a homeowner and a moving company. The original moving van has left. The homeowner is going to contact a new moving company to finish the move.

Caller on Shirley Street states that someone wrote “mesh” on the building and would like an officer to come by and take a look. 93 reports the owner is going to take care of the marked area himself. The owner does not want a report, only a log of the incident for future reference.

Party on Washington Avenue came in to state she has a couple of small nicks in her passenger door. She believes that her neighbor is responsible, and that he purposely did it. Officer observed nicks, which are consistent with one car door opening into another. Reporting party did not see her neighbor do it, nor can it be confirmed where or when it happened.

Report of two males arguing on Pleasant Street. Sierra 1 checking the area. Nothing found in the area.

Noise complaint called in by security guard at Governor Park. Stated that this is an ongoing event. He stated that the last time he spoke to the tenant, he was threatened verbally by tenant. 91 states an ongoing neighbor dispute. Peace was restored.

Party at Governors Park states that the neighbor below her is banging o the ceiling. Units spoke to the party and units on way to speak to involved party. Units spoke to both parties and it seems to be a misunderstanding. This is an ongoing issue between both parties. Units advised both parties to contact management.

 

Tuesday, Feb. 27

Caller on Sunset Road and Main Street states that a white vehicle is parked on the corner of the street. Vehicle will be ticketed for being within 10 feet of the intersection. Vehicle is not blocking emergency apparatus of being able to go down the street.

Caller on Revere Street has a little black dog that was running loose in the street. He will wait for ACO. ACO has the dog and believes it belongs to a resident on Main Street. He will ride by the address to see if anyone is home. The dog was returned to its owner.

Report of a lab mix loose on Pauline Street. Owner has the dog.

Party reports receiving numerous phone calls from various numbers attempting to gain access to information from her bank. It is a familiar scam where the caller states they will deposit $5,000 in victim’s bank account if the victim sends them four $1,000 Target gift cards. Caller recognized this as a scam and has blocked the numbers that have been calling.

Reporting party on Pleasant Street states a black SUV bounced off the sidewalk, and is now pulled over with the flashes on a few houses up. Would like an officer to check it out. The party is waiting for a tow truck.

Walk-in to report a past motor vehicle accident while parked on Overlook Avenue.

S6 was flagged down by citizen regarding a raccoon on Hagman Road. ACO notified. S6 and 92 have raccoon in a barrel.

Party on Shirley Street states a man standing outside his house, possible 94C activity. There was a copper-colored van in the area a few minutes ago, but has since left. No plate. Party checked out and units clear.

 

Wednesday, Feb. 28

Woman came to the station to report that sometime over night her vehicle was struck by an unknown motor vehicle on Crystal Cove Avenue.

A woman came to the station to report finding a small knife on her property. The knife was received at the station for safekeeping and placed in evidence locker.

A gentleman came to the station to report that a Fed Ex driver damaged the door to his home while attempting to deliver a package.

Caller states there is a large tan dog walking past the fire station towards Walden Street by itself. She is afraid it will get hit by a car. Calling party states that said dog is at the old middle school on Pauline Street. Charlie 1 reports an officer will respond.

 

Thursday, March 1

Car parked in front of bank in handicap spot on Woodside Avenue. Calling party has a plaque, and is unable to park due to the car being in the handicapped spot. There was no motor vehicle in the handicapped spot.

Well-being check on party on Woodside Avenue who is having trouble standing up. Clear, refused medical.

Caller on Shirley Street states that the dentist office next door is illegally dumping into his dumpster. Some of the items include used needles. He would like to make a report, and have the needles properly disposed of.

Female came to the station to report “a strange piece of mail” left in her mailbox. The letter was not threatening, but she wanted to have it documented in case it occurs again.

Female party with flat tire on Revere Street is attempting to change it in the middle of the road.

Gentleman came in to report that his property was damaged. He stated that when he arrived home on Sunday evening, he noticed scratch marks on his bedroom door. He is concerned that the roommate caused the damage. He stated he wanted the incident noted in case of any future occurrences or issues that arise.

Reporting party on Cutler Street states that his neighbor’s car has been running in driveway since 3 p.m., and he has called him, knocked on his door with no response. He would like an officer to check it out. Units checked the vicinity. The owner works nights and accidentally left the car running. Units checked with the occupant to make sure he was alright. Units conducted a brief check and everything was okay.

Party on Shore Drive states that she can hear two yelling and hitting things outside. Units state they can’t hear anything but they believe the caller is going to meet with them. Searched the area, and all is quiet. Suspects left prior to their arrival.

 

Friday, March 2

Party on Revere Street states there is a white box truck in the parking lot with two males and one female, possible 94C activity. They were dropping hypodermic needles on the ground. Vehicle took off towards Main Street. 91 spoke to clear who stated he thinks they are dropping off drugs, but did not see any at this time. Unable to locate the vehicle.

Party on Revere Street made threats towards employee. He has since left the store in a work truck. Party called police earlier about this same party. The party that dispatcher sent is the confirmed party. The vehicle does not match up, officers will be looking in that.

Report of wire down on Bowdoin Street. Also pole down. Fire on scene. DPW put cones up and pedestrians seek alternate route. National Grid on the scene.

Assisting with traffic control and blocking off roads. DPW has dropped off cones to keep Main and Payson Streets blocked off. Traffic was rerouted.

Calling party on Fremont Street went up to his attic to check for a leak and states he found a case with two firearms in them. Firearms were retrieved by officers.

Disabled motor vehicle at Read and Morton Streets. Fire, rescue enroute. Fire was able to extract male party out of vehicle. 91 will be taking the party home.

Wife called reporting husband was stuck in motor vehicle on Washington Avenue. Called the husband, but did not answer his phone. Police and fire respond.

Report that the traffic lights at Wadsworth Avenue and Winthrop Street is completely down. Police report DPW will handle.

Chief requests a tow for disabled vehicle blocking road at Veterans Road and Washington Avenue. Vehicle owner has private tow come and move the vehicle. Triple A is taking the vehicle.

91 assisting with traffic on Irwin Street. Report of pole on fire. Fire on the scene. National Grid said that it would be an hour before the proper crew can respond. Units opening up Shirley Street. Bottom of Irwin Street still blocked. Irwin is now open as National Grid has rectified the problem for the moment.

Caller on Ocean View Street reports a tree looks like it is about to fall down. Stated that he has been calling for 10 years on this tree. Also stated that DPW arrived and looked at the tree and then drove away. Wants action taken. DPW notified and stated that they looked at the tree, and it was safe. They can not do anything unless it falls down.

Party on Hermon Street states that there is a tree down in the middle of the street. 92 verifies there is a branch on the sidewalk, partially blocking the street. He moved the branch for traffic to pass. Message left for DPW.

Caller on Trident Avenue states that a window of her neighbor looks like it may have been broken. She asked if an officer could check to see if the window was actually broken. Unit arrived on the scene. Homeowner was repairing the window with plastic.

Report of a power line pole that is leaning into the road on Park Avenue. Unit went off in the area and reports that all lines and poles seem to be the way they are supposed to be. Unit clear.

Unit investigating a tree down, possibly blocking the street on Bay View Avenue. Tree broke near the base and tree is leaning on residence. The trunk of the tree is pointing out towards the street in the parking area. DPW will be notified. DPW on the scene and homeowner advised to stay clear of DPW.

Assist fire with traffic at Pauline Street and Waldemar Avenue. 92 on the scene. Fire left scene, and units clear.

Reporting party on Lincoln Street states there is a crack in the telephone pole and the pole is swaying. Unit on the scene and reports the pole is rotten at the bottom and appears to have a crack. Unit believes it will come down. National Grid notified. National Grid will call back with ETA.

Tree fell on a vehicle on Orlando Avenue. No one was inside the vehicle. DPW on the scene. Unit requested a tow. G&J notified. G&J has the vehicle.

Traffic light fell onto the road with no one hurt on Winthrop Street. Unit on scene and moved the light to the parking lot. It is not obstructing traffic. Resident called stating that he moved the lights next to the mailbox.

Party on Plummer Avenue reports that a neighbor’s flagpole is swaying heavily and may fall. Nothing showing.

Tree branch on Buchanan Street hindering traffic. Branch blocking the sidewalk, not impeding traffic.

Party on Neptune Avenue states there is a large dumpster in the middle of the street. Units on scene located a portable dumpster. They secured the dumpster to property.

Traffic signal is out due to power outage on Pleasant Street. Calling party states several near accidents due to this. Headquarters notified and will dispatch unit as needed.

Unit returned to Lincoln Street for public safety of a worn-down telephone pole. Fire responding to address. Fire reports they will call the pole in. Unit clear, road closures due to flooding taking priority.

Unwanted person on Revere Street. Male refusing to leave, not violent, just uncooperative. Unit talked to both parties. Verbal argument. Unwanted party refused to leave until he received a manger’s name. Calling party refused to give the name. Unit gave the unwanted party the manager’s name, and he left.

 

Saturday, March 3

Car stuck in water on Revere Street. Unknown if it is occupied. Party is with State Police. State has a tow on the way.

Call for a verbal argument on Shore Drive. No weapons. Nothing showing.

Fire enrollee for a residential lockout on Shore Drive. Party is staying with his friend.

Report of a party trapped in a vehicle on Washington Avenue.

Multiple motor vehicles with people trapped. Fire enroute. Passport fire got the parties out.

Two people and a dog trapped inside vehicle at River and Washington Avenue. Fire assisted.

Calling party on Bowdoin Street states that his pit bull got out. BOLO put out to the units.

Closing Public Landing due to flooding.

Abandoned motor vehicle due to flooding at Shirley and Moore Streets. Unit 91 requested a tow. G&J responded and will tow the vehicle.

Report of smoke in a basement on Tafts Avenue. Police assisting fire.

Report of open door and light are off on Woodside Avenue. Store should be closed. Units sent to investigate. Unit stated that the building is locked and secure.

Party on Sunset Road states that his friend gave first and last month’s rent and was supposed to get a key and the landlord is saying otherwise now. He is going to wait with her to translate for her. Through the interpreter service, woman was banging on the door saying she owes her money. She gave money to live there and decided that she did not want to live there and wants her money back. The calling party doesn’t have the money to give back to her, approximately $300. Unit spoke to all parties involved and explained that this is a civil matter and explained their rights.

Report of a dog barking outside for over an hour on Dolphin Avenue. Nothing showing.

 

Sunday, March 4

Four females on Putnam Avenue causing a disturbance in the restaurant. Verbal between parties. Female parties are highly impaired. Units assisting with courtesy ride. 91 transporting two females.

Calling party on River Road states hypodermic needles on the ground. 912 states nothing showing, all clear.

Party at Sturgis and Shirley Street stated that National Grid employees are on scene holding up traffic and they are being rude. Will not let the bus through. 93 states he spoke to National Grid on the scene and they stated they have the street blocked off. 91 states that they spoke to the crew who were contracted by National Grid. Passerby was upset by the work being done.

91 off to assist fire fore report of fire on Pleasant Street. 91 requests 93 need to block traffic. 91 stated fire gave okay to clear.

92 states he he off with vehicle stuck in water on Bay View Avenue. 92 states motor vehicle assisted by another vehicle and was towed from water.

92 relieving DCR detail for moment on Crest Avenue. Unit spoke to DCR on scene and they report that they will open Short Beach for travel in 15 minutes.

Party on Shirley Street states that there are two dogs that were running in the middle of the street. No ACO unit on this day. Contacted kennels and waiting for call back. Ocean View Kennel called back and they were unable to pick up the dogs. Reporting party said that she will hold the dogs until the kennel is able to pick them up. Reporting party found owners of the dogs and returned them.

Units hear beeping of an alarm on River Road. Units investigating the locating of the sound. Units located the alarm, making way inside, smell an odor of natural gas coming from inside. Fire dispatched. Alarm was smoke detector. Services rendered.
