Monday, March 5

Caller on Cliff Avenue states that his wife called him and told him that their dog got out. She is friendly, but can be timid around new people. Caller’s wife is out looking for her now but wanted to let ACO officer know. BOLO given to units.

Party came to the station to report a past hit and run involving her motor vehicle. 93 off to Ingleside for follow-up.

Report of a hypodermic needle next to the small slides on Veterans Road. Needle has been found, and will be disposed of properly.

Party on Putnam Street states that a neighbor’s dog bit his ankle and would like to report it. He states that the dog came out of the back yard. Officer spoke with parties involved. Reporting party did have a dog bite. Officer will be returning later to speak with the dog owner.

Caller on River Road states that her son is missing. He is 38 years old. Last time she saw him was Thursday. She is unable to come in to police headquarters. She called back to cancel as her son contacted her and was in Arlington.

Party on Shore Drive came into the station to report identity theft.

Caller on Waldemar Avenue stated there was an ongoing identity theft, which started last year.

 

Tuesday, March 6

Chelsea Police came to Winthrop for a possible assist on a subject that they were trying to pick up on a warrant. Chelsea had two separate locations in Winthrop they wanted to look into. Winthrop Police assisted Chelsea in both locations, but were unable to locate the party in question at this time.

Report on Winthrop Street of loud music. Units made entry into the apartment with the assistance of the management company. Units talked to the party who stated he could not hear the officer at the door or the music because they were sleeping. Units advised the party to keep the music down.

Party states that a bus help sign was activated heading into Winthrop on Main Street. 93 found the bus and the driver stated it was accidental.

Party states there is vandalism to the one-way sign (possible swastika) at Sturgis and Shore Drive. Unit requested DPW be notified.

A pedestrian was struck on Shirley Street while a motor vehicle was backing up. Male being transported to Tufts Medical. He was struck by vehicle while crossing the street. Vehicle driver did not see the male party while pulling out of a driveway and struck the male party.

Winthrop K9 assisted the Lynn PD with a vehicle search.

Party from the Housing Authority stated that people are trying to take furniture from a deceased woman’s apartment. She wants to put a no-trespassing order on the property and needs the police. This is a civil issue. Housing Authority got furniture back and locked the doors. Keys to the unit will be changed. Party will come back with a court order for the property if need be.

Caller on Underhill Street stated at the top of the street, there is a backhoe vehicle parked. Caller is concerned that fire apparatus will not be able to make the corner. The vehicle was moved but was parked legally.

Motor vehicle accident with no injuries on Winthrop Street. Minor accident and officer assisted with exchanging paperwork. One party showed reluctance at first. All parties got the information that was needed.

Unit attempted to serve summons to individual on Bowdoin Street. It was served in hand.

Report of past breaking and entering on Temple Avenue.

Caller claims a pickup truck from Corolla Roofing on Banks Street speeding down Wilshire setting off car alarms. BOLO given to the units.

Party came to the station to report a person or persons unknown have stolen his identity and filed his taxes fraudulently. He has reported this to the IRS, and they are investigating and correcting the situation.

 

Wednesday, March 7

Caller on Highland Avenue stated she heard a female screaming outside and also hearing fireworks as well. Units did entire scan of Highland Avenue area and Crest including the park and parking area. Nothing showing.

Suspicious materials in back parking lot on Lincoln Street. Spoke with manager and picked up the items and will bring them to the station. Possibly worker’s items: hammer, wrench and small baseball bat. Also will pass along to detectives.

At the end of  Brookfield Road a motor vehicle hit a parked vehicle, no injuries. One party to MGH. G&J has the vehicle.

Party from Terrace Avenue came into the station to report that a person or persons unknown created a forged check and stole $2,295 from her Bank of America account. She has reported this to the bank, and they are investigating.

Two car motor vehicle accident on Veterans Road. One party was not cooperating and would like an officer. Police helped in exchanging paperwork.

Report of a dumpster rolling down Neptune Avenue. The owner secured the dumpster.

Motor vehicle accident with no injuries on Pauline Street. Parties exchanged paperwork.

 

Thursday, March 8

Alarm burglar going off on Kennedy Road at the school. It was the gym right door alarm. No key holders contacted yet. Units on scene and report an accidental trip due to high winds.

Male party on Shirley Street attempting to jimmy into a car. Male party reported that it was his mother’s car, and she had left her keys inside.

Caller on Locust Street reports a vehicle is parked on the street and has not been ticketed. It is covered with snow. Parking ban will be lifted today, and the car will be tagged only at this time.

Individual on Shirley Street called to report sewage was backing up into his basement apartment. DPW has been notified.

911 call on Perkins Street. Heard a winglike noise. Attempted to return the call but got a busy signal.

911 call from Bowdoin Street. Unable to hear the caller. Sounded like wind. Possible phone issue like the other call. No one in the residence.

Assisted fire with a lockout on Sewall Avenue. Unable to assist with lockout. Female party was advised to call a locksmith.

Report of a white, bald man at the checkout on Revere Street. Unit spoke with the employees. Individual in question walked out. Unit wants it noted that the next time we get a call about this individual, call the police immediately so a no-trespass order can be placed on him.

Ongoing neighbor dispute on Revere Street. It is verbal in nature. Unit states that the party is being harassed by his neighbor and would like this documented in the case of a 258E being filed. At this time, we do not have any information with the other party, other than her first name. Units have advised the caller of all of his rights. The other patty called and reports having a problem over the past year with the caller. She reports being assaulted last year and threatened today by the caller who was throwing snow at her car as she was trying to park her car in front of his house. She would like this noted in the log for now in the event she needs so seek a 258E order as well.

Patriot Taxi is off with two young kids that tried to skip out on their fare. Unit is enrollee to address given over the radio. 92 transporting one minor to his residence.

Unit off with youth-related case (see above). Unit was unable to make contact initially and then found one of the parents. Unit off on Crest Avenue making his way over with the taxi driver and youth. Unit enrollee from Crest Avenue to Perkins Street. Cab driver has been paid his fare. Parents have also been advised of the situation.

 

Friday, March 9

Calling party on Shirley Street stated he had a drunk woman follow her and would like police. Units state they will be giving the other party a ride home. Good intent call in nature.

Party called regarding her program of “Horses for Heroes” and stated that the naming will take place in April. She is planning a large community event. Caller was encouraged to contact the deputy in the morning.

Calling party states that a man driving a taxi was parked in the middle of Pleasant Street and Brookfield Road with no lights and was waving her down. He was asking where the airport was. She found it very suspicious. Unit located the taxi and the battery to the car is dead. G&J was called and are on the scene. The cab was towed private property.

A dispute between tenants on Pond Street. Spoke to both parties. This is an ongoing issue of noise between tenants. They are going to take it up with management in the morning. Units advised both parties to stay away from each other until then .

Caller on Shirley Street says there is loud music coming from a green  utility truck. The caller then called back to state that the parties have shut the music off and went inside their home.

Party on Coral Avenue stated that a vehicle is parked illegally in the alley and it is hard for other vehicle to get in and out of the alley. 92 spoke with the calling party. He agreed to wait until the owner of the other vehicle moves the vehicle and understands the situation.

Party on Putnam Street states that she hit a cruiser that is parked. Caller is still on the scene. Report to follow.

Resident on Bowdoin Street stated that a silver SUV is parked past the sign stating, “No parking here to corner.” She states that the car has been parked there for several days. A citation was issued. The vehicle also has a ticket from yesterday. If the vehicle is there tomorrow, further action will be taken.

Checking on a vehicle that is in the parking lot for a long time on Revere Street. Manager advised to have the vehicle trespass towed. It was a Hertz rental vehicle.

Party who works on Deer Island stated that two people are filming where the airplanes take off. Area is clear.

Party came to the station to report being assaulted by a UPS driver. He stated that the driver went after him when he tried to sign for a package he was expecting. Party stated that the UPS driver almost hit him with the delivery truck. Party has reported this to UPS who stated that the driver has clocked out for the day. All units checked the area for the truck and operator to no avail.

Unit off with UPS driver on Pauline Street.

Party came to the station to report losing his man’s style trifold black wallet which contained gift cards, his T-pass, and his learner’s permit. Party believes he ay have left it on one of the Paul Revere buses last Wednesday. Checked with Paul Revere and they checked and report that it was not turned in to them. If it is they will contact us. Party will seek a new permit at the RMV.

Noise complaint on Kennedy Road. Clear, peace restored. No sign of a drill being used. Party also reported it to Housing.

A male party is out of sorts on Grovers Avenue and caller wants him to leave. Units report the male is looking for a place to stay. 93 is driving him to a different location. Male was dropped off and they have a room for him at a different location.

Three males with flashlights in the parking lot in back looking into cars and climbing on car port roof on  Pond Street. Officers off with the vehicle. Parties were given a citation for trespassing on private property and were advised of further action if they repeat this offense. Officer checked all the vehicles in the carport, and none of them appeared to be entered into.

 

Saturday, March 10

Caller at Governors Park reports loud music coming from the apartment below her. Units can buzz her apartment number to get in the building. Units arrived and heard no music on the scene. Units knocked on the door with no answer.

Party on Myrtle Avenue reports loud music. The music has been turned down.

Dog barking for over an hour on Summit Avenue. Caller states this is an ongoing issue this early in the morning. 93 reports the area is quiet.

Walk-in to report a female in the middle of Revere Street who may need medical attention. Nothing showing in the area.

A tree is leaning over on Woodside Avenue. Tree was uprooted, and DPW was notified.

A party came to the station to report that she discovered someone had cashed a check made out in her name. The woman never made out the check so she reported the situation to her bank.

Minor motor vehicle accident on Bartlett Road. Unit 91 will assist with papers exchanged and changing of a tire.

Report of a drunk female causing problems on Shore Drive. Medical responding. 57-year-old female transported to Whidden. Male party was advised of his 209A rights.

Party on Willow Avenue reports there is a box truck blocking the street for the last two hours. Party is unsure if they are doing work on the street. Unit stated that this truck is doing work with National Grid. Unit advised the party that they could not park there. National Grid will be calling later for a detail.

Caller states that two cars are illegally parked on the corner of Cliff Avenue near the Winthrop Arms. Owners were located and both vehicles were moved.

 

Sunday, March 11

Party on Waldemar Avenue states that a vehicle is blocking their driveway and playing loud music. Party inside vehicle was spoken to. The party was dropping off a friend. He is leaving soon.

Caller on Coral Avenue states a vehicle is illegally parked in a handicapped spot. Vehicle was given a ticket.

Motor vehicle abandoned off road and on hillside on Terrace Avenue. Vehicle was rented out of East Boston. Parties name on paperwork in vehicle has an expired license. 91 will call rental company from station and let them know what happened.

Female party on Pleasant Street walked in to report she has noticed loose lug nuts on her car, her mother’s car and her two sister’s cars who live down the street from her. Party just wanted this on record in case of further incidents.

Party on Johnson Avenue believes harassing phone calls from Morocco may be involved her father’s flat tire in Peabody. These events also may be linked to a restraining order she has again a party in town. Units advised party to contact Verizon and retrieve phone records.

Security guard at Governors Park repots an ongoing issue with child jumping causing a noise disturbance. He will meet units out front. Security will log everything for civil dispute. Party was advised to call if it continues all night. It is a neighbors dispute.

Party at Governors Park stated that her neighbor keeps hitting her ceiling with an object. Units spoke to both parties. They were advised that it was a civil matter and they need to speak with management. Peace was restored. Units are forwarding the contact information of the party to a social worker. Possible mental illness.
