Police Blotter 06-07-2018

Monday, May 28

Party on Main Street reports a wallet stolen at the Mobil Gas Station. They have the subject on surveillance. Employee will call when this party returns.

Walk-in from Tafts Avenue to report that his nephew is missing.

Report of a motor vehicle with expired plate parked in Crest Avenue parking lot. Party was able to renew registration online with officer.

A manhole cover is off on Winthrop Street. DPW has been notified.

Party came in to the station to report that the posters that they put on poles around the neighborhood regarding their missing cat have either been torn down or folded over by someone. The reporter believes it could be the party at an address that they were formerly living at.

A doctor states that her patient on Irwin Street is having severe stomach pain and the party hung up and is not answering. The doctor is concerned for her well-being. Police request medical evaluation. Party was transported to MGH by Action.

Caller reports that there are dogs on Daw Playground which states that no dogs are allowed. It was a puppy on a leash playing with the niece of the party. They were made aware of the rule and are leaving the park.

Caller who wants to remain anonymous, states that two females are about to fight near the faculty parking lot of the Middle School on Main Street. 91 off with subjects at the staircase. It was a verbal argument between friends. Issues have been resolved and the parties were told to contact us again if any issues arise. Peace was restored.

Party from previous call states that he has spoken to his nephew and all is well. Open Fox was cancelled.

Caller on Grovers Avenue states that his landlord is banging on the door and trying to force her way into the house. It is a civil dispute. Units are mediating the situation. One party left for a walk. Units advised the other party of their rights. Both parties have been separated and all have been advised of their rights. They were also informed to call back if anything else arises.

Suspicious activity at Hannaford Park. 93 off with two parties. They check out and have been sent on their way.

 

Tuesday, May 29

93 is off with two suspicious individuals on Shirley Street. The parties check out. They were going by an address they previously lived at.

Caller on Charles Street states that a male party is outside and is screaming to himself. Party sectioned to the MGH. 91 will be riding along with the ambulance.

Party on Pleasant Street states that a construction crew is working at 6:30 a.m. and caller was very upset and wanted police to go down and tell them not to start until 7 a.m. Peace was restored and it was explained to the contractors they can’t work before 7 a.m.

Caller on Coral Avenue states a neighbor repeatedly is harassing him leaving construction objects near his vehicle in the driveway. 93 reports a neighbor disagreement between two apartments. Both were advised of their rights.

Malden PD contacted Winthrop requesting a well-being check on person of concern. Statements were made of self-inflicted harm. Winthrop will perform a well-being check to subject on Trident Avenue. 93 spoke with the mother. The female party was not at the residence and the mother is aware of the situation and will call for assistance if female party goes to the house.

Caller states he witnessed a vehicle with two infants inside unattended vehicle on Kennedy Road. Caller states that an adult returned with another child. BOLO announced for a late model Subaru Outback. It comes back to address in Winthrop and units are going to the address. Officer spoke with male party and his story differs from reporting party. Officer advised him of the laws about leaving children in vehicle unattended.

Party called police to do a well-being on her daughter as she sounded confused when the mother called. Officer states that he will call the nurses on scene to check on female status. Female party is well.

Caller who wants to remain anonymous, states they are doing construction work extremely loud on Crest Avenue. Unit clear. Party was laying down a floor in his store. 91 states that the caller did not make himself known. Unit will allow him to continue working.

Minor motor vehicle accident on Shirley Street. No damage. Parties will handle privately.

 

Wednesday, May 30

Caller states an elderly woman looks confused walking alone up and down Sunset Road. Spoke to both party’s grandson. She is fine.

Party on Chester Avenue wants an officer to come down to report that power tools were stolen from his shed. Report to follow.

Same party as above states that tools were stolen from his truck on Shirley Street. He is extremely upset. This is the same call from Chester Avenue.

Motor vehicle accident at Main and Read Street. Reporter now aware of any injuries. Two cars involved. Medical aid enroute as well. All parties refused medical aid. Both vehicles were towed to G&J Towing.

Caller states there is a white male very unstable leaning on fences and walking down the street. Caller is concerned for his well-being. Updated location: Buchanan Street. 45-year-old male refused medical. Calling his partner to be picked up.

Report of loud music coming from vehicle on Franklin Street. Female turned the music down and peace was restored.

Pawtucket RD reports that they recovered a motorcycle reported stolen out of Winthrop on December 9. An arrest was made and the motorcycle was involved in an accident and has heavy front end damage. It was towed. The reported owner on the form was notified with the details and will call Pawtucket and also Amica Ins. Co.

 

Thursday, May 31

Caller on Lincoln Street states that a dog has been barking for almost two hours. Unit reports the dog has been brought inside. No noise coming from the area.

A well-being check on a child who was outside screaming on Myrtle Avenue. It was a verbal argument between mother and son. The child was off to school.

Caller reports she saw a vehicle on Veterans Road having 94C activity with another person. She states this is recorded on her phone.  It happened about five minutes ago and the car is no longer on the scene. Nothing showing at this time.

Motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian at Putnam and Pauline Street. No person injury. Party will take the child to the hospital to be checked out.

A flatbed with backhoe going down Tafts Avenue unescorted. Caller stated that it was headed towards Deer Island via Shirley. 92 will sit in the area and do traffic control.

Party on Somerset Avenue reports that a neighbor threw guns out in the trash. Two guns. Units retrieved both weapons. One was a replica toy gun, one was a broken pellet gun. Both confiscated and were taken back to the station for proper disposal.

Unit assisted party with retrieving property on Buckthorn Terrace.

Party states that a car has not moved in about 3 or 4 days with flat tires and does not have a Winthrop parking sticker. This is on Sturgis Street. 91 reports vehicle is legally parked with no violation.

Report of a person going through people’s trash near Pico Avenue. Units made contact. The man was collecting recycling goods. He was advised of the town bylaws regarding recycling. Male party was verbally uncooperative.

 

Friday, June 1

Caller on Ingleside Avenue reports she believes male party just stole a bike from her neighbor’s yard. She did not get a direction of travel. Unit reports they searched the area and did not find anyone matching the description. Units are heading down to Beacon Circle to check out a group of kids. The group was gone upon their arrival. Area search for the male party and bicycle was negative.

Unit off with vehicle parked in handicapped spot in French Square without a placard. Citation was issued.

Caller on Washington Avenue reports a male in the rear stealing the recycle bins. Units report speaking to all involved parties. The male is not stealing the bins, just collecting ans. The falling party was advised that no crime is being committed and any other issues that she may have need to be addressed via a civil process. All parties were advised and peace was restored.

Caller on Myrtle Avenue reports loud music being played. Officers spoke to the resident and advised him of the consequences if units have to return. Peace was restored for now.

Party on Hermon Street reports that there is a white truck and a black motor vehicle parked there an no one else can get by and they refuse to move. Officer spoke to the operators of the vehicles and vehicles were moved.

Police had to assist medical on Cross Street with traffic control. 22-year-old male being transported by ambulance to MGH.

Caller on Harvard Street states that a blue vehicle is blocking her driveway. A citation for impeding a driveway was issued. Owner of the property has room to leave.

Party at Bartlett and Orlando who wanted to remain unknown,but wanted to report she heard a female screaming in that vicinity and said it did not sound friendly. She thought the police should check it out. Units checked the area around both streets and nothing showing.

 

Saturday, June 2

Caller at Governors Park reports there are about four people in the parking lot by the tennis court. They are being very loud. Unit spoke to the individuals and the parties went home for the night.

Report that by the parking lot on Short Beach there is a Boxer walking around by itself.

Caller reports a tool box in the middle of Hadassah Way and is causing a road hazard. Heavy metal device attached. It was too heavy to move. DPW notified.

Party came to the station to turn in a handgun which belonged to his father that he found while cleaning out the house.

Units assisted fire with traffic on Somerset Avenue. Possible basement fire.

Caller on Kennedy Road reports a homeless male person (ex-husband) in her hallway. He is possibly drunk. Male party was sent on his way.

 

Sunday, June 3

Caller states that the door to ATM is all taped up at Revere and Crest Avenue. Caller thinks it looks suspicious. 93 stated nothing suspicious showing. Door is locked with a locking mechanism.

ACO visiting house on Circuit Road on a barking dog complaint. A couple of weeks previous dog was involved in an attack. ACO informed residents about laws pertaining to boarding animals.

Report of a dog inside vehicle at Deer Island parking lot with windows up. State Police jurisdiction and they were notified.

Caller on Johnson Avenue states the air pressure light is on in vehicle. Caller states a monitored video surveillance at home shows an individual removing caps from wheels on automobiles. 91 spoke to family members at the address who state air was let out of the tires overnight. 91 retrieved the camera footage but it was poor quality. 91 advised the family of different techniques with the cameras.

Caller as retrieved a duck on the Deer Island walkway. Hind legs are broken. ACO has duck in his possession.

Caller reports that two dogs are with owners and the dogs are trying to help at kids at Massa Playground. There are no dogs allowed in the park. Units spoke to the reporter. The animals have since left the park.

Walk-in to report of a suspicious person on Tafts Avenue. 93 off to investigate. He searched the area and came up with no party fitting the description found.

Walk-in to the station to report they heard a lot of loud screaming coming from one of the ground floor apartments on Hermon Street. It was a verbal argument between friends. Parties are quieting down for the night.
